This one has its moments. Largely a failure. Oh well.

Rakuten Eagles ga Jama wo Suru — GAM × AKB48

Probably the most natural-sounding artificial key change in my remixing history (there’s no key change in “Daisuki Rakuten Eagles”). Those are hard to pull off; they often end up crackly or Chipmunk’d. Yay for Melodyne!

LU LU LU no Inori — GAM × Mano Erina

A tearjerker and one of my personal favorites. “LU LU LU” has never sounded so sad and hopeless before. Too bad the vocal rip was a mess. *shakes fist at UFW*

Hatehatena no Waltz — Hanasaki Cobeni starring Kikkawa Yuu × Eco Moni.

My first 3/4-time mashup. (H!P very rarely releases any non-4/4 time songs.) Quality isn’t too great for various reasons, lack of an instrumental being one of them. It’s a shame neither of the artists represented were ever given their own single and instead had to piggyback on releases featuring other artists. (The linguist in me is screaming at the grammatical weirdness of that last sentence. Ahem.)

Yaguchi’s vocals are a bit too much for this song.

Ki ga Happy Birthday — NEWS × Matsuura Aya

Yes, this is a Johnny’s × H!P mix, requested by misa. I’m afraid I’m not much of a Johnny’s fan. None of their music have grabbed me yet, but who knows? Send me any recommendations you might have … they might end up being mashed with H!P.

Kimagure Ready? — Tommy heavenly⁶ × ikimono-gakari

My first completely non-H!P mix. Alas, this and my two previous Tommy mixes were DMCA’d and taken down from YouTube, by the request of Defstar Records, Inc. I think remixes are fair use, but I don’t really have the resources to fight this in court, and I don’t really care that much anyway. In my opinion, their actions (including taking down pretty much everything that makes use of Tommy february⁶, Tommy heavenly⁶, and the brilliant green recordings) is doing them more harm than good. I happen to own 13 Tf6, Th6, and tbg CDs, and none of them would have been purchased had I not encountered Tommy by chance on YouTube during the summer of 2007. But anyway … these three mixes will still be up here, unless Defstar finds out about them as well.

Planetaria — Otsuka Ai × ikimono-gakari

Requested by pengie. This is my first mashup of two songs having the same title: “Planetarium”. The backing track has been upshifted two semitones.

Tamago love — Shugo Chara Egg! × Perfume

I seem to having good results with Shugo Chara Egg! × Perfume mashups. This one’s also a polyphonic mix preserving the original Perfume vocals from “Puppy love”. They make pleasant background vocals, I think. I can’t wait for Shugo! Shugo! to come out.

Happy☆Happy Summerday Wedding! — Morning Musume. × Tsukishima Kirari starring Kusumi Koharu (Morning Musume.)

It’s always nice to have tracks that match in key, tempo, and title. This pair even have the same exact key change. Amazing coincidence.

FREE Chocolate — Matsuura Aya × ERIKA

Another amusingly titled mashup. I want free chocolate … ^_^
